Life Coach – Victoria

Hi, I’m Rebecca and I’m a certified life coach in Victoria. I believe in the power of coaching to change lives. It changed mine. I became a coach because I believed life was amazing, but there was a day when I felt that I wasn’t having an amazing experience with it.

Operathusiast

Welcome Operathusiasts! I’ve spent most of my life as a professional singer of opera and in that time it has not only paid my bills but also given me wings to travel and the opportunity to work with tremendous artists, both onstage and off.

I am an artist committed to process, to exploration and discovery. The roles in my career show the vocal and dramatic chameleon I have been. From my beginnings as a lyric colortura Mezzo Soprano I have grown into my instruments’ darker and richer color. I have left Rosina behind and begun to sing the Verdi Requiem and his revenge driven gypsy Azucena.

Coaching doesn’t label life as good or bad, but as life.  And wherever you go, there you are, and you might as  well dig in and enjoy  the juice of this moment. Life is ripe with experiences.  Through my coaching work I remembered how incredibly lucky I was to be on my journey.

There is so much to learn, to feed from, to taste. The bitter and the sweet. Coaching has helped me strengthen my ability to stay with my life, exactly where I am.   It addresses my whole life, my family, spirituality, recreation, love life, career, and money, all of it. Learn more.

Welcome Operathusiasts!

I’ve spent most of my life as a professional singer of opera and in that time it has not only paid my bills but also given me wings to travel and the opportunity to work with tremendous artists, both onstage and off. Looking out from my cabin, here in the Chesty Voiced Canyon (where mezzo soprano’s of a certain age live) I feel called to share much with you, the Operathusiast
Whether you are new to opera and want to learn more, or you are a hard-core HD going opera lover, here in my Operathusiast Corner there is something for everyone. Stories from the wings; tips on how to sound smart in the lobby; voice types demystified; and whatever else I find amusing and enlightening on any given week.

I would also love to hear from you, gentle reader.  Some of you may have heard me in my regular role as Mezzo Mom on Saturday Afternoon at the Opera on CBC.  From my microphone I gave advice to the amateur singer and music lover on all things vocal-and I would be delighted to continue that role here.  Can a baritone make himself into a tenor?  How do you tell your colleague they are singing flat? Would Ethel Merman have made it as an opera singer?

My answers are in order: Not without ditching the high-heeled boots; you don’t; and give up Broadway?
The Operathusiast Corner is a new project for me, but I’m looking forward to my ongoing adventures and telling you what I myself have longed to know.

Please enjoy! Learn more
